What is Genesys?
Genesys sells Genesys Cloud, a CCaaS (contact center as a service) platform. In September 2026 it described new products that "advance Genesys Cloud as the agentic orchestration platform for CX," coordinating AI agents, people, systems and workflows (Q2 release). Genesys reported that Genesys Cloud reached nearly $2.9 billion in annual recurring revenue (ARR) in the quarter ending July 31, 2026, with Genesys Cloud AI ARR above $400 million (company-reported) (Q2 release).

Which AI capabilities does Genesys document?
- AI agents. Genesys says its agentic virtual agents, configured in Genesys Cloud AI Studio, combine customer interactions "across voice and digital channels with real action across back-office systems" (virtual agents).
- Agent assist. Genesys says automatic knowledge, insights, next-best action support, translation and summarization "come standard" with its copilot (Copilots page).
- AI-assisted QA. Genesys describes a "Virtual supervisor" that can "prefill evaluation forms using AI" so supervisors adjust rather than start from scratch (speech and text analytics). This is described as pre-answering evaluations, not as fully automated scoring of every interaction.
- Analytics. The same page describes analyzing voice and digital interactions to find emerging topics and root causes (speech and text analytics).

How does it connect to existing contact center systems?
Genesys Cloud is the contact center platform itself. For back-office systems, Genesys says that, building on its acquisition of Pinkfish, Agentic Virtual Agent is expanding to "more than 500 enterprise integrations" and over 25,000 MCP-compatible tools, with A2A (agent-to-agent) interoperability planned for platforms such as Salesforce and ServiceNow (AVA release).

What security and compliance evidence is public?
Genesys links to a Trust Center (Trust Center), but its certification list did not render in a form this index could read on the check date, so no specific certifications are stated here.

What changed in 2025-2026?
- September 2, 2026: Genesys announced Agentic Virtual Agent updates, including the Scaled Cognition APT-2 model and a Deepgram integration (available now), ElevenLabs voices (expected August to October 2026), and native voice enhancements, A2A interoperability and AI-assisted authoring (expected November 2026 to January 2027) (AVA release).

What should buyers verify?
Separate generally available features from roadmap items, since Info-Tech advises treating the new orchestration products as roadmap (Info-Tech). Ask whether QA evaluation is fully automated or AI-prefilled for your use case. Request certification reports through the Trust Center. Clarify how AI usage is billed.
