Level AI vs Observe.AI vs Cresta: how the AI-native contact center platforms compare
All three score 100% of conversations, assist live agents and run AI agents; Level AI fits QA-led programs that want humans and bots on one rubric, Cresta fits real-time performance programs, and Observe.AI fits teams building many governed AI agents.
Level AI, Observe.AI and Cresta are the three AI-native platforms most often shortlisted together, and on paper they cover the same ground: automated QA on every conversation, real-time agent assist with automatic summaries, coaching, analytics and customer-facing AI agents. The differences are in emphasis and evidence. Start with Level AI if your program is QA-led and you want compliance, inferred CSAT, coaching and a virtual agent held to one scorecard. Start with Cresta if real-time agent performance and revenue outcomes drive the purchase. Start with Observe.AI if you plan to build and govern many AI agents with versioning and release controls.
Everything below comes from each vendor's own pages, checked on October 20, 2026. We did not test the products. See the methodology.

Positioning lines come from each vendor's homepage (Level AI, Observe.AI, Cresta). Level AI lists its 11 Workers on its AI Workers page, and Cresta's homepage lists Deputy Agent. The sections below cite the page behind every other cell.
Which is strongest for automated QA and compliance?
All three claim full coverage, so compare how they score.
Level AI describes QA-GPT as using "a proprietary LLM trained on your contact center data" that can "evaluate over 90% of the standards and metrics that scorecards cover." Each score ships with "supporting evidence and reasoning." It supports hybrid scorecards that mix AI-scored and human-scored questions, a sandbox to tune accuracy before go-live, and evaluator overrides that recalibrate future scoring (Level AI QA). A QuinStreet quote on the same page says it went "from manually scoring 1-2% of our calls" to 100%.
Observe.AI says Auto QA "evaluates every call and chat against your rubric," links each score to "the exact transcript moments behind every score," and offers calibration that "aligns AI and human scores," manual workflows for disputes, and audit trails. It masks PII, PCI and PHI before the model sees the data (Observe.AI Interaction Intelligence).
Cresta describes "AI-driven evaluations that score compliance, behaviors, and outcomes at scale," "bespoke models calibrated to your business and rubrics," and human-in-the-loop calibration and appeals (Cresta Quality Management).
Our read: Level AI publishes the most detail on scoring mechanics (evidence, hybrid scorecards, sandbox), which matters for teams whose QA results feed compliance audits. Observe.AI is explicit about pre-model redaction. Cresta frames QA around behaviors that drive outcomes. For deeper criteria, see LLM-based vs keyword-based QA scoring.
Which is strongest for real-time agent assist and summaries?
Level AI Agent Assist provides in-call guidance, next-best actions, "Compliance Flags" when agents deviate from policy, dynamic checklists, automated note-taking, and Manager Assist for live call monitoring. Phi, its knowledge bot, returns cited answers mid-call. It embeds in "Salesforce, Zendesk, Five9, and more" (Level AI Agent Assist). Level AI says it was named a Leader in the 2026 CMP Research Prism for Real-Time Agent Assist (Level AI).
Observe.AI Companion Agent guides agents live, detects tone and escalation risk, reminds them of required disclosures and generates post-call summaries. The page lists +12% speed to proficiency, +22% CSAT and 65% less after-call work, without naming a customer (Observe.AI Companion Agent).
Cresta Agentic Assist offers "real-time hints, reminders, and workflows," source-backed knowledge answers and instant summaries. It ties results to named customers: Achieve "generated 3x ROI and cut after-call work by 75%," and Aqua Finance increased dollars collected per hour by 61% (Cresta Agentic Assist). Cresta also says it was named a Leader in The Forrester Wave: Conversation Intelligence Solutions for Contact Centers, Q2 2025, which evaluated 10 providers (Cresta).
Our read: Cresta publishes the most named-customer evidence for assist. Level AI has the most detailed compliance prompting. Observe.AI's metrics are the least attributable.
How do their sentiment, CSAT and coaching features differ?
Level AI iCSAT blends a sentiment model, a customer-effort model ("repetition, time, transfers, customer actions") and resolution status to score satisfaction on 100% of interactions (Level AI iCSAT). Coaching plans draw on transcripts, "sentiment shifts and overtalk," QA scores and customer feedback, and managers edit plans before agents accept or comment (Level AI Agent Coaching). In a Level AI case study, VistaPrint reports an 80% reduction in QA and coaching effort and coaching plans "generated in under a minute" (VistaPrint).
Observe.AI Performance agent combines behaviors from Insight and AutoQA to generate coaching plans that supervisors edit, using frameworks such as GROW or SMART (Observe.AI Performance).
Cresta Conversation Intelligence offers topic discovery, sentiment analysis and predictive CSAT, and says CVS Health scores 100% of calls for predictive CSAT (Cresta Conversation Intelligence).
For a buyer whose question is "which has the best AI for QA, sentiment and real-time coaching," Level AI documents the most complete chain from scoring to satisfaction to coaching. Cresta documents the strongest link from coaching to commercial outcomes.
How do their customer-facing AI agents differ?
- Level AI offers voice and chat agents "in 50+ languages," a builder that combines "agentic execution with deterministic workflows," and scoring of "every virtual agent conversation against the same QA rubrics" used for humans. It lists a sub-2-second latency budget and 3x better containment, not tied to a named customer (Level AI AI Virtual Agent).
- Observe.AI Voice AI claims "sub-300ms responses," supports escalation rules and passes context to live agents on transfer. It lists no performance metrics on the page (Observe.AI Voice AI). Its homepage describes an Agent Harness for versioning, testing and release (Observe.AI).
- Cresta AI Agent supports chat and voice "in 30+ languages," hands off "when AI reaches escalation thresholds," tests against "Synthetic Customers built from your own conversation data," and cites Snap Finance (5.5x higher containment) and Xanterra (74% containment) (Cresta AI Agent).
Our read: Level AI's differentiator is the single quality standard across human and AI agents. Observe.AI's is lifecycle tooling. Cresta's is named containment results. Level AI's page does not describe handoff mechanics, so test that directly.
What do their security pages actually state?
| Level AI | Observe.AI | Cresta | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Source | Security page | Security page | Trust Center |
| SOC 2 | Type II | Listed among standards followed | Listed |
| ISO 27001 | Yes | "ISO 27001:2013 certified" | Listed |
| HIPAA | Compliant, BAA available | Not stated on the page | Listed |
| PCI DSS | Compliant | Listed among standards followed | Listed |
| Other | HITRUST CSF, GDPR | GDPR, CCPA | ISO 27701, ISO 42001, GDPR, TISAX, SOC 3 |
Cresta's trust center lists the broadest set of frameworks, including ISO 42001 for AI management. Level AI is the only one of the three that states HITRUST certification. Request current audit reports from any vendor you shortlist, because a listing is not a scope statement.
Level AI also runs seven in-house models (for transcription, redaction, intent, summarization, inferred CSAT, QA scoring and VoC classification) and claims up to 49x lower cost to serve, with cloud and VPC deployment (Level AI One AI Platform). That is a vendor claim without a published benchmark.
Which should you shortlist for your situation?
| Your situation | Start with | Why |
|---|---|---|
| QA and compliance program on an existing CCaaS, regulated industry | Level AI | Evidence-backed scoring, hybrid scorecards, HITRUST and HIPAA BAA |
| Want humans and AI agents graded on one scorecard | Level AI | Documented as a core virtual agent feature |
| Sales, collections or retention where revenue per conversation matters | Cresta | Named-customer revenue and collections results |
| Large enterprise needing many AI agents with release governance | Observe.AI | Agent Harness, CoBuilder and lifecycle tooling |
| AI management certification is a procurement requirement | Cresta | ISO 42001 listed in trust center |

What should a three-way bake-off include?
- Send each vendor the same 200 recorded conversations and your current scorecard.
- Compare AI scores to two calibrated human reviewers per conversation and measure agreement.
- Ask each to show the evidence behind 10 disputed scores.
- Run live assist on one queue for two weeks and measure ACW (after-call work) and AHT (average handle time) against a control queue.
- Put one bounded AI agent use case (for example, order status) through a scripted test, including a forced handoff to a human.
- Get written pricing for QA volume, assist seats and AI agent conversations separately.
Limits of this guide
- All capabilities and metrics are vendor-reported from first-party pages. We did not run or audit any product.
- Observe.AI's Companion Agent metrics and Level AI's virtual agent metrics are not attributed to named customers. Cresta's figures are attributed but still vendor-published.
- Cresta's homepage and Conversation Intelligence page attribute the same 50% call-volume reduction to different customers, so we left that figure out.
- Observe.AI's security page names ISO 27001 certification explicitly but lists SOC 2 Type 2 and PCI DSS as standards it follows; confirm attestation status directly.
- Analyst recognitions are reported by the vendors themselves, and the Forrester and CMP reports evaluate different categories and years.
- Product names in this space change often (Cresta's Agent Assist became Agentic Assist). Pricing is quote-only for all three.
Frequently asked questions
- Which vendors provide real-time agent assist, automatic call summarization and QA automation in one platform?
- Level AI, Observe.AI and Cresta all document all three on their own product pages. Each describes live in-call guidance, automatic post-call summaries and automated QA across 100% of conversations, so the choice comes down to emphasis, evidence and fit with your stack.
- Which of the three has the best AI for QA, sentiment analysis and real-time coaching?
- No public, independent test settles it. Level AI documents the most detail on QA scoring, sentiment and inferred CSAT; Cresta documents behavior-based coaching tied to outcomes; Observe.AI documents calibration and coaching frameworks. Run a scored bake-off on your own calls.
- Do Level AI, Observe.AI or Cresta publish pricing?
- No. None of the three had a public pricing page when we checked on October 20, 2026, so expect a sales-led quote. Ask how AI agents, assist seats and QA volume are each billed.
- Can these platforms replace my contact center software?
- They are designed to work alongside a CCaaS rather than replace it. If you need new routing and telephony, evaluate a CCaaS suite such as NiCE, Genesys or Talkdesk, then decide whether to add one of these platforms on top.
